Bukit Asam Pursues Production Target of 36 Million Tons

The performance of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) for the 2021 financial year recorded the highest achievement in the company's history by achieving a net profit of Rp 7.91 trillion. This figure shows a growth of 231.4% compared to Rp. 2.39 trillion in 2020. Meanwhile, operating revenues reached Rp. 29.26 trillion, an increase of 69% from 2020 which was Rp. 17.33 trillion.

PTBA President Director Arsal Ismail said the achievement was supported by solid operational performance in line with global and domestic economic recovery, which in turn boosted demand for coIn addition, the momentum of commodity prices has also pushed up coal prices. "We have also succeeded in implementing an efficiency strategy well," said Arsal in a virtual press conference recently

The achievement of the 2021 performance has succeeded in placing PTBA as the best issuer in the coal sector according to Investor Magazine. This member of the BUMN mining holding , MIND ID, even entered as one of the finalists for the 2022 Investor Award.

PTBA's moncer performance continued in the first quarter of 2022, where its net profit skyrocketed by 355% to Rp 2.28 trillion, in the same period in 2021 it was recorded at Rp 500.52 billion. Meanwhile, revenue rose 105 percent to Rp 8.21 trillion from Rp 3.99 trillion in the first quarter of 2021.

PTBA said the increase in production which reached 40 percent, transportation volume which grew 16 percent, and sales volume of 18 percent were the main factors driving PTBA's performance growth, as well as the increase in commodity prices, of course. PTBA will continue to optimize this good momentum by spurring coal production which is targeted to reach 36.41 million tons with a transportation volume of 31.50 million tons throughout 2022. The sales volume is targeted to reach 37.10 million tons.
