The National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) is a platform that brings together scientists, academicians, industry partners, the government, and all stakeholders that focus on battery technology and renewable energy. Since January 2020, NBRI has performed more than 200 activities national and internationally covering 39 countries. Those activities include Focus Group Discussion, Lectures, Schools, Workshops, Webinars and also annual international conference on battery and advanced materials. The description details on each service portfolio are as follows:

1. Research & Development
The NBRI involved in National Research Priority on Energy Storage for developing lithium ion battery through local mineral resources under Ministry of Research and Technology (84/E1/PRN/2020). Besides, NBRI also becomes supporting and delivering partner for project related to lithium ion battery and energy storage with various stakeholders from government, private, university to industry covering entire supply chain (upstream to downstream). Recently, NBRI has signed MoU with Association of Nickel Miners Indonesia (APNI) for climbing-up the value chain of Indonesian nickel ore deposit through battery technology. Through our technology, we possibly multiple the price of nickel ore into 150-fold from initial price to become a battery cell for electric vehicles and energy storage. 

2. Education & Training
NBRI concerns on the quality of human resources development in the field of battery technology and renewable energy. NBRI provides training program for vocational school, corporate, industry, research institution, university, individual and public with comprehensive and practical syllabus on upstream, midstream to downstream of battery and renewable energy technology topics. Recently, NBRI becomes the chief of working group on SKKNI battery under Ministry of Manpower.

3. Testing and Standardization
NBRI involves in testing and standardization of lithium ion battery in Indonesia. As independent institute, NBRI delivers the inspection, standardization (IEC, UL, UN.DOT, ISO), and certification of lithium ion battery production in collaboration with PT. Surveyor Indonesia. Recently, NBRI has signed the MoU with UL to foster the battery standardization in Indonesia.

4. Social Impact
NBRI Social Impact is a project for solving the current issues related to renewable energy and energy storage and helping the society through practical technology intervention and capacity building. The current project is on Patia, Banten for helping farmers irrigation through solar water pump. We open the funding scheme on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and crowdfunding through Kitabisa.
