PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) is eyeing coal production of 35.5 million tons throughout 2022 from five Mining Business Permits (IUP) in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra. This target refers to the Company's Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) this year.
Assistant Vice President of PTBA Air Unit Laya Suratman said that the RKAP would be donated from five Tanjung Enim Mining Units (UPTE), namely The Laya Water Mine, Muara Tiga Besar, Banko Barat, Banko Tengah Block A and Block B
The details are that the Laya Water Mine unit is targeted to produce 7.75 million tons so far this year. Then, the Big Three Estuary is targeted to gain 8.5 million tons of coal.
Then the Banko Barat mining unit was targeted to produce 7 million tons of coal. Meanwhile, Banko Tengah Block A and Block B as a whole are expected to produce 12.25 million tons.
"In accordance with the RKAP, the total production of UPTE reached 35.5 million tons at the end of the year," Suratman explained to reporters at the Air Laya Mining Unit, Monday (12/9).
As for the entire first semester of 2022, the total coal production of this red plate issuer has reached 15.9 million tons. This realization grew by 20% from 13.3 million tons in the previous year.
Since the beginning of September 2022, upte's cumulative coal production has reached 1.13 million tons as of Monday (12/9). For september, PTBA set a production target of 3.9 million tons.
If you refer to KRAP, the target in September is 3.6 million tons. However, PTBA's Assistant Manager of Mine Information Control, Suherman said that after internal discussions, the production target was scraped.
Indeed, the production achievement is only around 28.86% of this month's target. However, PTBA does not deny that there is a slowdown due to the rains that have poured down on UPTE in recent days.
"We've been a bit behind as of today because the weather this month is out of our control. The trend in a week or two is raining," Suherman said.
