After conducting an initial public offering (IPO), PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) is preparing to double its nickel production.NCKL Director Suparsin Darmo Liwan said that NCKL's nickel production will increase this year, in line with the increase in production capacity. In 2022, the output capacity of processing using the Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF) technology is 25,000 metric tons of nickel. This year, production from RKEF is targeted to quadruple to 100,000 metric tons Meanwhile, last year's production of Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (MHP) was at 40,000 metric tons. MHP production is projected to increase to 60,000 metric tonnes from April 2023, and is expected to increase by another 60,000 tonnes next year.
The increase in NCKL production will have an impact on increasing sales this year. "At least there is a two-fold increase from 2022. However, the projection again depends on nickel prices in the market, because prices are very volatile," said Suparsin in a public expose held Friday (17/3). Taking a peek at financial performance, NCKL's revenue from contracts with customers reached IDR 9.04 trillion from January to November 2022. This number increased by 17.32% compared to the same period the previous year. NCKL also recorded other income of IDR 231.30 billion, an increase of 255.82% compared to the same period the previous year of IDR 65 billion.
NCKL succeeded in reducing selling, general and administrative expenses by 9.05% from IDR 873.45 billion to IDR 794.43 billion. Thus, NCKL's profit for the period shot up 207.95% from IDR 1.39 trillion as of November 2021 to IDR 4.30 trillion as of 30 November 2022. Earnings per share also rose from IDR 23.16 per share to IDR 78.63.
