Bumi Resources (BUMI) has incurred exploration expenses amounting to USD 10.17 million for exploration activities in July 2023. The entire exploration process was conducted by Kaltim Prima Coal.
The exploration areas include Bengalon Pit B/C, Pit Inul Lignite, Pit South Pinang, and Pit Pedayak East. All exploration areas utilized testing methods, and the selection of open hole drilling and core hole drilling areas. "Each area absorbed exploration funds of USD 2.54 million," wrote Dileep Srivastava, Corporate Secretary of Bumi Resources.
The results of the Bengalon Pit B/C area exploration activities were 43 open holes, and 40 core holes, with a follow-up plan of 13 open holes, and 15 core holes. Then, the Inul Lignite Pit exploration results were recorded as many as 23 open holes, and 38 core holes with zero follow-up plans.
Furthermore, the exploration results for the Pit South Pinang area noted 63 open holes and 20 core holes with follow-up plans of 111 open holes and 66 core holes. As for the exploration results in the Pit Pedayak East area, there were 39 open holes and no core holes, with plans for 38 open holes and 38 core holes as follow-ups.
