The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, emphasized the importance of balancing profit with responsibility towards the environment and local communities. He also highlighted the necessity of post-mining management that prioritizes the well-being of communities.
"Post-mining management is crucial, and the people must also be taken care of. Profits are important, but the welfare of the people should not be neglected. Mining communities should not struggle," said Bahlil in his remarks during the opening of the GMP Award 2024.

“The application of good mining practices ensures that Bukit Asam’s mining operations are effective, efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly. This recognition motivates us to continually improve our Good Mining Practice implementation. By doing so, Bukit Asam can continue to provide sustainable energy that enhances the well-being of communities,” said Suhedi.
