PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) continues to strengthen its position as one of the largest mineral and coal mining contractors in Indonesia. With more than 12,000 dedicated employees, PPA currently manages operations at 14 coal and nickel mining companies across Indonesia.
From January to November 2024, PPA successfully recorded overburden (OB) production of 303.36 million bank cubic meters (BCM), surpassing the target set for November, which was 296.15 million BCM.
On the other hand, the mineral production, which includes coal and nickel, reached 64.27 million tons, with details of 60.57 million tons of coal and 3.7 million tons of nickel ore. This achievement underscores PPA's operational efficiency and its ability to consistently meet the needs of its partners.
Adri Thanada, Head of Corporate Communication at PPA, said that by the end of 2024, PPA projects overburden (OB) production will reach 333.35 million bank cubic meters (BCM), while coal and nickel production is expected to total 70.5 million tons. This represents a 5% growth compared to the 2023 achievement of 66.8 million tons.
"God willing, in 2025, PPA will add several new projects. We are optimistic that next year's OB production will exceed 400 million BCM," said Adri in Jakarta on Friday (December 13, 2024).
Adri added that 2024 is considered a "Golden Year" for PPA, as the company has won various national and international awards. For the third time, PPA received the top award at the Good Mining Practices Award 2024 organized by the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Ditjen Minerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). In addition, PPA won the Subroto Award for mining safety technology innovation and became the Overall Winner at the 21st Indonesia Fire and Rescue Challenge.
Moreover, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) Garuda Rescue Nusantara, representing PPA, also achieved remarkable success at the Mining Emergency Response Competition (MERC) 2024 in Langley Park, Perth, Australia. Various other awards were also received in the fields of community and environmental sustainability.
PPA continues to uphold the principles of Safe and Strong Operational Performance as its core foundation in delivering the best services. With its commitment to sustainability and innovation, PPA targets to become the second-largest mining services contractor in Indonesia in the near future.
"We are continuously innovating and striving to make a positive impact, not only for the industry but also for the community and the environment. PPA is committed to setting new standards in sustainable mining practices. We also hope for blessings by quickly contributing to ESDM's disaster preparedness efforts during any natural disaster," added Adri.
Under the coordination of ESDM's disaster preparedness program, PPA's ERT team actively participates in humanitarian missions during disasters in Indonesia. Notably, the PPA ERT team was directly involved in responding to the floods in Mahakam Hulu, South Kalimantan, the eruption of Mount Lewotobi in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and the floods in Sukabumi.
With these extraordinary achievements this year and a solid growth strategy, Putra Perkasa Abadi is ready to take further steps to provide world-class mining solutions and support Indonesia's economic growth.
