PT STAL Ecopark Pratama (SEP) recently announced its plan to build an ecosystem model for nickel processing and refinery with Step Temperature Acid Leach (STAL) technology in Citeureup, West Java.
Prior to the construction, PT SEP have signed a cooperation agreement with the WIKA – ETI Consortium which was formed by PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. and PT Enviromate Technology International, for Engineering Procurement Construction and Commissioning (EPC), such as designing, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, testing, and commissioning.
The signing of the agreement was held last Friday (19/08) in Jakarta, by Widodo Sucipto as President Director of PT STAL Ecopark Pratama (SEP), Harum Akhmad Zuhdi as Director of Operations II of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk., and Suriyanto as President Director of PT Enviromate Technology International.
For information, PT SEP is a subsidiary of PT Trinitan Green Energy Metals (TGEM) which some time ago announced its plan to build a class 1 nickel (battery grade nickel) processing area, which carries the concept of an integrated Eco Industrial Park in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Sorong, West Papua.
According to the President Director of PT STAL Ecopark Pratama (SEP), Widodo Sucipto, the STAL One Ecopark in Citeureup will later become an ecosystem model of the IGNITE Ecopark Area that will be built in Sorong.
“STAL One Ecopark will be the pioneer of IGNITE Ecopark, but it will only operates 1 STAL module. So it's not a pilot plant anymore, but it will be an ecosystem model in industrial scale. In addition, we will also build an R&D facility there," Widodo Sucipto said.
Furthermore, Director of Operations II PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk., Harum Akhmad Zuhdi said that Indonesia is extraordinary (its natural wealth potential) if it can be managed properly. Therefore, he said that the signing of this collaboration is an important moment, as well as giving his appreciation to all parties involved, because this project will be a form of contribution to Indonesia.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Enviromate Technology International (ETI), Suriyanto said that his party was proud of the trust that had been given to ETI, as well as affirmed its commitment to handle this EPC process.
