Bumi Subsidiary, KPC & Arutmin Wins Gold and Silver Awards from corporate social responsibility and sustainable village development awards 2022

PT Bumi Resources Tbk. ("BUMI" or the "Company") as the Largest Coal Producer in Indonesia again won awards through the business units of PT Kaltim Prima Coal ("KPC") and PT Arutmin Indonesia ("Arutmin") in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and PDB (Development Sustainable Village) Awards 2022 from the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia at the JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta (23/6).

The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Ma'ruf Amin, directly handed over the Gold category award to:

  1. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KPC: Ashok Mitra for the Clean Water Supply program - "SPAMDES is pouring down heavily".
  2. General Manager Operations Arutmin: Umar Hadi for the Economic Driver and Local Workforce Absorption program - "Building BUM Desa Usaha Berkah Mulia in Bukit Mulia Village".

    While the Silver category award was handed over by the Minister of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Mr. Abdul Halim Iskandar which was received directly by representatives of KPC and Arutmin:
  1. KPC Project Management and Evaluation Manager: Louise G. Pessirerron for the Waste Management program - "From Garbage to Rice Fields" in Bengalon.
  2. Kintap Site Manager: Lutfi Qolbirokhim for the Mangrove Tourism Development program -
    "Building BUM Maritim Jaya Village, Pulau Burung Village".

    In his remarks, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Ma'ruf Amin, appreciated this activity, "The existence of BUM Desa (village-owned enterprises) is expected to be able to optimize local potential through its business sectors, and give benefits to village communities by involving village driving figures. The collaboration of BUM Desa together with BUMN (State-owned Enterprises) as well as the private sector can encourage efforts to empower the economy of rural communities. This can build a growing, fair and strong national economic."

    The President Director of BUMI, Mr. Adika Nuraga Bakrie said, "This award is a proof that the BUMI group always strives to decrease the community's dependence on mining businesses by developing the potential of local resources as well as absorbing local workers with a long-term goal of sustainable economic independence. By the time mining activities ended, the community can continue to grow and develop in achieving their welfare. Thank you to the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration for the CSR and PDB Awards 2022 awarded to KPC and Arutmin. This achievement is in line with the Company's strategic objectives, to continue maintaining business performance, and grow sustainability amidst the severe challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic".
