PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) reported the results of the nickel segment's operational performance throughout the first nine months of 2022. As a result, ANTM's nickel production and sales experienced a correction in this period.

As of September 2022,ANTM's unauditedferronickel production volume was recorded at 18,088 tons of nickel in ferronickel (TNi). This number decreased by 5.27% from the achievement ofunauditedproduction for the first nine months of 2021 of 19,096 TNi. In the third quarter of 2022,ANTM's unauditedferronickel production rate was recorded at 6,106 TNi, a decrease of 3.09% from the second quarter 2022 production of 6,301 TNi.

ANTM recorded ferronickel sales performance throughout the first nine months of 2022 of 17,269 TNi. This achievement decreased by 8.53% fromunauditedsales in the same period last year of 18,880 TNi.

However, in the third quarter of 2022, unaudited sales volume reached 7,646 TNi, a significant growth of 93% compared to theunauditedsales volume in the second quarter of 2022 of 3,962 TNi. This growth is in line with the condition of industrial recovery and the increase in absorption of ferronickel products in the third quarter.

"The company believes that ANTM's nickel segment performance will consistently grow in line with strengthening global economic conditions anda positive outlook fornickel commodity absorption," explained ANTM Director of Operations and Production I Dewa Wirantaya, Wednesday (9/11).

ANTM also reported the results of the nickel ore segment's operational performance throughout the first nine months of 2022. ANTM recorded nickel ore production of 6.22 million wet metric tons (wmt), a decrease of 25.06% compared to the production volume in the same period last year of 8.30 million wmt.

The realization rate ofunauditedsales of nickel ore in the first nine months of 2022 to the domestic market was 4.75 million wmt, a decrease of 17.6% compared to sales in the third quarter of 2022 of 5.76 million wmt.

In the third quarter of 2022 alone,unauditednickel ore production reached 1.82 million wmt, an increase of 23% compared to production in the second quarter of 2022 of 1.48 million wmt. The achievement ofunauditedsales volume of nickel ore in the third quarter reached 1.71 million wmt, growing 142% from sales in the previous quarter of 708 thousand wmt. The increase in sales figures is in line with the recovery in the absorption rate of domestic nickel ore of third-party customers and the stabilization of global nickel prices.
