MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia is fully committed to supporting the government's efforts in achieving the Net Zero Emissions (NZE) target by 2060.

Corporate Secretary MIND ID Heri Yusuf said the commitment was manifested in several concrete commitments in the three main pillars of the MIND ID Group which were the results of the elaboration of SDG's 2030.

Therefore, BUMN Holding Mining Industry implements an energy transition strategy based on three pillars, namely To Prevent, To Reduce, To Mitigate.

The effort was carried out by all members, namely PT Timah Tbk., PT Aneka Tambang Tbk., (Antam), PT Inalum, PT Bukit Asam Tbk., (PTBA), and PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI).

"MIND ID continues to provide more value for Indonesia, one of which is committed to supporting the government's efforts to target NZE it can be completed in 2060," Heri said as quoted on Monday (8/1).

Heri explained that one of the programs implemented was mangrove cultivation and planting activities carried out by PT Timah Tbk.

PT Timah Tbk., consistently planted mangroves around the company's operational areas.

Mangrove planting carried out by members of the MIND ID Group, PT Timah Tbk was carried out in Bangka Belitung Province and Riau Islands Province.

"Mangrove planting efforts have been carried out for a long time. Even since 2010 PT Timah Tbk has planted mangroves with the Ikebana foundation on Bangka Island," he said.

In addition, PT Timah Tbk also conducts mangrove rehabilitation with community groups, youth, academics and fishermen groups. This is in addition to being intended as an absorbent agent carbon emissions, as well as an effort to prevent abrasion and maintain coastal ecosystems.

In addition, another member of the MIND ID Group, PTBA is also actively carrying out various programs to support the achievement of government targets related to the upcoming NZE 2060.

PTBA succeeded in building the Bali Mandara Toll Road Solar Power Plant (PLTS) and PLTS at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC) Building. The presence of the two PLTS is able to reduce emissions by around 414.1 tons of CO2e.

The reduction in emissions caused by the existence of the two PLTS in the period from January to October 2023 is equivalent to planting 847 trees.

This success is a form of PTBA's commitment in supporting the achievement of NZE 2060.

"Then, PT Antam Tbk. through UBPP Logam Mulia collaborates with the East Jakarta City Government to do Tree planting simultaneously in 10 districts in East Jakarta," Heri said.
